The description of the flat handlebar brake lever is as follows:

There is usually a large distance between the pivot point of the long pull brake lever and the end of the brake line, so when you move the brake lever, the brake line will be pulled more. This type is usually suitable for V-type brakes and disc brakes. The long pull brake lever of the GICLIBI series is made of high-strength aluminum alloy and processed by CNC, with high precision, good strength, lightweight and easy to use. The sealed bearing linkage used at the pivot is more comfortable to use and has a longer lifespan.

The short pull brake lever has a smaller/shorter design between the end of the brake line and the pivot. In contrast to the long pull brake lever, this short pull brake pulls fewer cables when the rider moves the control lever. Suitable for road caliper brakes and cantilever brakes. The short pull brake lever of GICLIBI series is made of high-strength aluminum alloy and processed by CNC, with high precision, good strength, lightweight and easy to use. The sealed bearing linkage used at the pivot is more comfortable to use and has a longer lifespan.

To summarize, the short pull brake lever and the long pull brake lever require a shorter amount of cable to be pulled during startup. Short pull brakes are only applicable to side pull and mid pull caliper brakes, cantilever brakes, and mini V-type brakes.
